About the Role
We are looking for a creative and technically skilled Shopify Developer to join our growing e-commerce development team at BlueEra Softech. As a Shopify Developer, you will work closely with designers and project managers to build, customize, and optimize Shopify themes, apps, and integrations for our global clients. You’ll be part of a team that delivers user-friendly and conversion-driven Shopify experiences.
Qualification Required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Diploma in Web Development, UI/UX, or Full Stack Development from a recognized institute.
- Equivalent practical experience and a strong portfolio (for self-taught developers).
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, customize, and maintain Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Build dynamic and responsive storefronts optimized for performance and mobile experience.
- Integrate third-party apps and APIs to enhance store functionality (e.g., payment gateways, CRMs, shipping APIs).
- Implement custom features or modifications to improve user experience and sales funnel.
- Troubleshoot bugs, handle browser/device compatibility issues, and optimize Core Web Vitals.
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers, backend developers, and project managers for seamless delivery.
- Participate in store migrations, data handling, and app/plugin recommendations for client needs.
- Keep up with Shopify platform updates, app trends, and e-commerce best practices.
Essential Skills & Technologies
- Proficient in Shopify Liquid templating, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+).
- Experience with Shopify theme customization, Dawn theme, and Online Store 2.0 features.
- Basic understanding of Shopify APIs, webhooks, metafields, and app integrations.
- Familiarity with AJAX-based filters, dynamic cart updates, and variant logic.
- Ability to work with JSON, REST APIs, and handle front-end/backend data flow.
- Knowledge of Shopify App usage (Klaviyo, Judge.me, ReCharge, etc.) and ecosystem.
- Experience with version control (Git) and code collaboration tools.
- Basic SEO and performance optimization techniques for Shopify stores.
- Familiarity with tools like VS Code, Chrome DevTools, and testing across devices.
- Bonus: Knowledge of Headless Shopify using Storefront API, Hydrogen, or integration with CMS like Sanity.
